How can we help?

The questions we hear most, answered plainly. If you cannot find what you need, email us and a real person will reply.

Common questions

Does Holler call the police for me?

No, and no app can. Phones do not let any app silently dial the emergency services. Holler alerts a trusted contact you choose and gives you a one-tap button to call your local emergency number yourself (112 in Europe, 999 in the UK, 911 in the US). Holler is not a substitute for emergency services.

How do I set off the alarm?

Just shake your phone. Arm Holler for your walk home and a firm shake fires the alarm and sends your live location to your trusted contact, even with the phone locked in your pocket. You can also tap the on-screen button, use the Lock Screen widget, or set the Action Button on iPhone 15 Pro and later.

Will it go off by accident in my pocket or bag?

Holler only listens for a shake while you have armed a walk-home session, and it takes a firm, deliberate shake to fire, not the everyday jostle of a bag or pocket. When you are not in a session, nothing is listening.

Does the alarm work on silent?

Yes. The siren plays over the mute switch and the strobe lights the screen, so the deterrent works even with your phone silenced.

Does my contact need an iPhone?

No. Your trusted contact gets your alert and live location whether they are on iPhone or Android.

Is Holler tracking me all the time?

No. Holler shares your location only while an alert is active, and only with the contact you chose. It is not an always-on tracker.

Still need a hand?

Email us and we will get back to you. For anything safety-critical in the moment, call your local emergency number directly.

Holler is not a substitute for emergency services

If you are in immediate danger, call your local emergency number directly: 112 across Europe, 999 in the UK, 911 in the US. Holler alerts a contact you choose and helps you raise the alarm, but it does not call the emergency services for you, and it may not work in all circumstances.
