Tell someone your plan
Let a friend or family member know your route and roughly when you expect to be home. Sharing a plan with one person you trust is one of the simplest things that helps, because someone knows to check in if you go quiet.
Stay aware, keep your hands free
Well-lit, busier routes are usually better than shortcuts through quiet areas. Keeping headphones out, or on low, helps you stay aware of what is around you. Having your phone in your hand means a deterrent is ready without you having to dig for it.
Have a deterrent ready
A loud alarm and a bright light can stop a situation before it starts. Holler turns the phone already in your hand into exactly that, with one move, and brings a trusted contact in with your live location if you need it.
Trust your instincts
If something feels wrong, act on it. Cross the road, step into a shop, call someone, or raise an alarm. You never need a reason to put your own safety first, and no one will judge a false alarm.
Know your emergency number
In immediate danger, call your local emergency number directly: 112 across Europe, 999 in the UK, 911 in the US. No app, including Holler, is a substitute for the emergency services.
