# Holler

> Holler is an iOS-first personal-safety app for walking home alone at night in the UK, EU and US. You trigger it (shake, on-screen button, Lock Screen widget, or Action Button) and your phone instantly becomes a loud, flashing deterrent that records evidence and alerts a trusted contact you choose with your live location. The alarm is always free. Status: pre-launch, capturing early access.

## What it does

- Instant deterrent: a max-volume siren and full-screen strobe fire the moment you trigger it, even when the phone is on silent, to stop a threat before it starts.
- Records evidence: starts recording video and audio (where legal) as the alarm goes off, stored securely.
- Alerts your person: one trusted contact you choose gets your live location and a one-tap way to help, even if they are on Android.
- Reliable by design: no login on the critical path; the alarm, strobe and recording work with no signal; a Test button verifies your setup.
- Private by default: location shared only during an active alert, never sold, EU data residency, GDPR by design, evidence auto-deletes.

## Important safety facts (do not misstate)

- Holler is NOT a substitute for emergency services. No app can silently dial them. In immediate danger, call your local emergency number directly: 112 in Europe, 999 in the UK, 911 in the US.
- Holler alerts a user-defined trusted contact; calling the emergency services is one tap, initiated by the user.
- It is not an always-on tracker. Location is shared only during an active alert.

## Pricing

- Free to download. The deterrent, recording and trusted-contact alert are free forever. An optional Holler Pro (planned, from EUR 3.99/month) adds unlimited contacts, live location streaming and a family plan. Pro is never required to raise the alarm.
